Kelly Barnes, BA – Executive Director

Kelly was raised in Chateaugay, NY where she excelled at soccer, basketball, and softball. She played Division I NJCAA soccer and basketball at Mater Dei College and finished her collegiate basketball career at SUNY Utica. At SUNY Utica, she earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Kelly worked for several years as an Adventure Based Counselor, utilizing team building skills and high and low ropes courses with at-risk adolescents. After working along side a sports psychologist and realizing that she couldn’t save the world, Kelly decided to return to college and is currently finishing her Master’s of Science in Kinesiology at Arizona State University. She completed an internship at Kronos Institute of Longevity working with their exercise physiologist and found that exercise physiology is her passion. Kelly actively participates in cycling and running events and is currently training for her first ½ Ironman.

 

Andrew Althoff - Director of Programming

Andrew was born and raised in Arizona and recently received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Arizona.  He has been a fitness oriented individual for much of his life and was actively involved in baseball during high school. Andrew enjoys working to develop new and unique techniques, as he hopes to keep his training progressive and exciting.

 

Justin Bluff

Justin was born and raised in Sedona, Arizona and recently finished his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology at Arizona State University. Justin has played football for over 7 years and is now planning on attending graduate school for Endocrinology before going to medical school. He is dedicated in helping individuals of all levels of physical fitness to achieve their goals.

 

Luke Hagerty

Luke attended Defiance High School in Defiance, Ohio where he was all conference in basketball and baseball.  Following high school, Luke pitched for Ball State University where he received first team All-MAC honors.  After three years at Ball State, he was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Cubs.  He has also spent time with the Florida Marlins and several independent league teams. Luke became interested in training after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2003 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University.

 

Kyle Hobbs

Kyle was raised in Gilbert, Arizona and received his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University. Kyle was a USS swimmer for 13 years and also played varsity basketball in high school. Kyle coached swimming for 4 years and is very dedicated to helping people achieve their specific fitness goals.

 

Kristen Cole

Kristen graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology.  She enjoys running and teaching aerobics, but loves college football (hook ‘em horns!).  Kristen would eventually like to pursue a Master’s degree in Athletic Training.

 

Jennifer Williams

Jennifer was raised in Queen Creek, Arizona. She is a graduate of Arizona State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. Jennifer attended Northern Arizona University and was part of the Athletic Training Program for two years before transferring to ASU. She enjoys hiking, anything outdoors and attending all sporting events. She is committed in supporting others in their fitness development and willing to invest time in her own professional growth. Jennifer has future plans on getting her Master’s of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. 

 

Brian Sowers

Brian was raised in Santa Maria, California. In May of 2006 he graduated from California State University Fresno with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. Brian initially played baseball for Alan Hancock Community College and completed his collegiate career at University of St. Mary’s in Kansas. Sports have always been his passion.


Jon Fennell

Jon grew up in Milford, NJ until he went to Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science. During his time at Asbury College, he played all four years on the intercollegiate tennis team. From Kentucky, Jon went on to pursue his Master’s of Science degree in Sports Performance at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. During his two year program Jon also earned his CSCS credential through the NSCA. Jon’s future aspirations are to earn a doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology and with that teach in a college setting. Although the NY Mets are his favorite sports team, tennis remains his passion.


Nathan Brutcher

Nathan, originally from Southern California, is a graduate from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology. He has played a number of sports competitively including baseball, football and soccer. He also enjoys hiking, running, swimming and absolutely loves to be outdoors. Along with his passion to learn and excel as a trainer, Nathan enjoys working with individuals of all levels of physical fitness and takes great joy in helping to train and motivate them in achieving their specific fitness goals.


Magen cox - Office manager

Magen was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She has received her Associate’s degree in General Studies from Glendale Community College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Phoenix. Not really an athlete during school or much of one now, she enjoys working around active people as motivation. However, when she gets the opportunity she does enjoy swimming, skiing, tai chi and yoga.
